Adoption has always been part of our family story. Jeff’s mother was adopted as a newborn and we’ve seen firsthand how wonderfully her life has turned out. Evan, our adopted son is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new baby. He can’t wait to be a big brother. We believe that being honest and open with our children about their adoption stories is the best way for them to truly understand the miracle that brought us together.

It is difficult to show all of whom and what we are in just one letter, but we are thrilled that we have the chance to share our lives with you.  We hope that we can make this difficult yet brave decision easier for you.  We are Brian and Nikki.  Currently, our family consists of us, our daughter (Rileigh), and our twelve-year-old Australian Shepherd (Maitlyn).  Nikki and I have been married for a little more than eleven years.  We met at a local college, dated for a year, and were married in June of 1997.

As you begin to read this letter, we are sure you must have mixed feelings and emotions. We can only imagine the difficult decision you are facing right now and admire your selflessness. Whatever your circumstances may be, you have made a courageous decision to give life to your baby, and we commend you for that.

Life does not always go according to plan, but things do happen for a reason. Neither of our lives is going according to plan, but maybe we can help each other. We are unable to conceive but being parents and raising a family is the most important thing to us. We would like you to see into our lives, so that your choice will be a bit easier. Ken and I have been married for 3 1/2 years. We planned to have children right away but due to my endometriosis, we have not been able to have a child biologically. We have a strong love for God and that is what our marriage is built on. We have a happy life together but an important piece is missing, a child. We look forward to building a family through adoption and will welcome this precious child as our own with great joy.
